The Pentagon confirmed on Tuesday that the leader of al-Qaeda splinter organization the Khorasan group was killed earlier this month, Reuters reported.Muhsin al-Fadhli, part of the terrorist group Khorasan, was traveling on July 8 near Sarmada, a town in northwestern Syria close to the Turkish border when a U.S. drone targeted and struck his vehicle.

Russia carried out the "most important" drone attack on Kyiv overnight Saturday-Sunday since the start of the invasion, military authorities said. "In total a record number of explosive drones launched were counted: 54!" Ukraine's air force said in a Telegram post. Forty of the drones targeted the capital, killing two people and wounding three.
