A group of re-elected MPs from the ultra-left France Unbowed (LFI) arrive at the National Assembly behind their leader, Mathilde Panot, the day after the first round of the legislative elections. 32 New Popular Front (NFP) MPs were elected in the first round, including 20 from France Unbowed, compared to 39 for the far-right RN and its allies. UK lawmakers vote in favour of the government's latest plans for sending migrants to Rwanda, which has split Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's ruling Conservative party. French MPs agree by 181 votes to 163 to phase out most of the special pension schemes provided for in the first article of the pension reform. Lawmakers in Finland vote overwhelmingly in favour of joining NATO as a deterrent against Russian aggression, paving the way for a joint application with Sweden to be submitted in the coming days. After a marathon debate lasting a day-and-a-half, 188 of 200 members of parliament voted in favour of NATO membership, a dramatic turnaround from Finland's military non-alignment policy dating back more than 75 years.
