NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg echoes US concerns that China may supply Russia with weapons to help it pursue its war against Ukraine. "We are also increasingly concerned that China may be planning to provide lethal support for Russia's war," the US-led defence alliance's chief says. SOUNDBITE
In an interview filmed by NATO for AFPTV, NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg says that Russian forces are not capable of making "big breakthroughs" on the battlefield in Ukraine. "We don't have any other indications or reason to believe that Russia has the capabilities, the strength to make big breakthroughs," Stoltenberg says in an interview. SOUNDBITE
NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg says conditions set out by Russian President Vladimir Putin for initiating Ukraine peace talks are "not a proposal made in good faith". Stoltenberg's comment comes during a meeting of NATO defence ministers in Brussels and follows Moscow's proposal that Kyiv pull its troops out of regions claimed by Russia and cease efforts to join NATO in return for peace talks.
