Malaysia sentences South African to death for drug trafficking

Description

A Malaysian court sentenced a South African national to death on Thursday for trafficking methamphetamine. The High Court said the defendant failed to raise reasonable doubt in the prosecution’s case against Deon Jacobus Alfred Cornelius, who arrived in Penang in October 2013 with 1.9 kilogrammes of methamphetamine hidden in a compartment of his laptop bag.
