He's survived impeachment proceedings in parliament. Now South Africa's president has to stare down a challenge within his ruling African National Congress. Supporters of Cyril Ramaphosa's predecessor Jacob Zuma jeering him at the outset of his speech before the ANC party conference, with plenty of allusions to the wads of cash stolen from a couch at his private ranch. The African National Congress (ANC) conference starts in Johannesburg as some 4,500 delegates, from all across of South Africa, gather to chose their next party leader. "Viva ANC", shouts President Cyril Ramaphosa, who hopes to be re-elected as ANC leader a few days after he dodged impeachment in a parliament vote. IMAGES
