The CDC met to discuss whether to recommend the use of any Covid-19 vaccines. The US Food and Drug Administration or FDA is the agency that might authorize one. Volunteers in vaccine trials have reported they frequently feel flu-like effects after getting vaccinated. This could affect people's willingness to get vaccinated in the first place.
The European Union has offered free COvid-19 vaccines to China, the EU executive said on Tuesday, amid a surge in infections following Beijing's relaxation of its "zero-Covid" policies. China has not ye responded to the offer.
