The president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, addresses West African heads of state who have gathered in Abuja to hold an extraordinary summit on Niger, following a coup d'état in the country. The summit follows an announcement overnight by Niger's military regime that they had formed a new government. ECOWAS says it has not ruled out military intervention in order to reinstate overthrown president Mohamed Bazoum. "We gather with profound sense of urgency and firm determination" says the president.
