The White House confirms that a national security threat raised by US lawmakers involves Russia developing an anti-satellite weapon. "I can confirm that it is related to an anti-satellite capability that Russia developing," National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby tells reporters, adding however that there was "no immediate threat to anyone's safety." US President Joe Biden told his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday that another $625 million in military assistance, including four HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, is on the way, the White House says. SOUNDBITE
President Donald Trump is refusing to concede the 2020 election to President-elect Joe Biden. Eventually, Trump will have to accept defeat and concede the race. CNN reports that Trump could use his expansive pardon power to try to settle legal questions on his way out the door. Will Trump consider granting himself a pardon? He faces state investigations into his business and finances. There is also the prospect of federal investigators scrutinizing him after he leaves office. There is no law saying Trump cannot pardon himself. Trump's pardons would only cover federal crimes. Trump still faces ongoing investigations into his Organization by the New York attorney general and the Manhattan district attorney.

CNN reports Trump had hoped a range of pivotal events would turn the electoral tide in his direction, but they're vanishing as quickly as Halloween candy. A coronavirus vaccine hasn't been created.
