Flooding hits southwest France

Description

A part of the Landes department begins the year with "very important" floods of the Adour and Midouze rivers, notably at Mont-de-Marsan where the water hadn't reached such a level for 40 years. According to the site vigicrues, the Midouze, a tributary of the Adour, exceeded 7 m at Mont-de-Marsan in the evening of Thursday 31 December 2020 and is supposed to progress "slowly to stabilize between 7,45 m and 7,55 m" at midday on 1 January 2021.
