British Home Secretary Priti Patel announces another 917 deaths in hospital due to coronavirus, bringing the country's total toll close to 10,000. SOUNDBITE
British Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Alok Sharma says that 563 people have died from coronavirus in the UK in one day, a new record marking a clear acceleration of the pandemic and bringing the death toll to 2,352, up 563 on the previous day. As France ends it's 15th day in lockdown the country's Director of Health, Jerome Salomon, says "3,523 deaths" related to the virus have been recorded since the beginning of March". He adds that "458 more patients have been admitted to intensive care units" in the past 24 hours. SOUNDBITE
