Coronavirus: More than 500 deaths in one day in the UK

British Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Alok Sharma says that 563 people have died from coronavirus in the UK in one day, a new record marking a clear acceleration of the pandemic and bringing the death toll to 2,352, up 563 on the previous day. Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Health Secretary Matt Hancock and the heir to the throne, Prince Charles, have all tested positive for COVID-19. SOUNDBITE
