Mock election amid coronavirus pandemic in Sri Lanka

Negombo (Sri Lanka), Jun 13(EFE/EPA).- (Camera: Chamila Karunarathne) The Sri Lankan Election Commission held on Saturday a mock election onfor voters in Gampaha District to make the voters acquainted on how to vote according to the health quarantine regulations. Sri Lanka has decided to hold parliamentary elections on 5 August after it was postponed from 25 April and 20 June due to the coronavirus pandemic. FOOTAGE OF THE MOCK ELECTION.

  • Covid-19 vaccination drive in Colombo amid third wave of pandemic

    Colombo, Jul 5 (EFE/EPA).- Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps personnel carried out Monday a vaccination drive with China's Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine at a public park in Colombo. Sri Lanka has so far received over six million doses of Covid-19 vaccine with the stock of newly arrived 26,000 doses of Pfizer- BioNTech Comirnaty Covid19 vaccines Monday. Sri Lanka is currently using Oxford AstraZeneca, China's Sinopharm, Russian Sputnik V, Covid -19 vaccines for the Vaccine rollout.
