Covid-19 swab tests amid third wave of pandemic in Sri Lanka

Colombo, Jul 29 (EFE/EPA).-Sri Lankan health workers wearing protective gear performed Thursday COVID -19 swab tests in Colombo.Sri Lanka is currently in the midst of the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and the number of cases is increasing day by day.   • Covid-19 vaccination drive in Colombo amid third wave of pandemic

    Colombo, Jul 5 (EFE/EPA).- Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps personnel carried out Monday a vaccination drive with China's Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine at a public park in Colombo. Sri Lanka has so far received over six million doses of Covid-19 vaccine with the stock of newly arrived 26,000 doses of Pfizer- BioNTech Comirnaty Covid19 vaccines Monday. Sri Lanka is currently using Oxford AstraZeneca, China's Sinopharm, Russian Sputnik V, Covid -19 vaccines for the Vaccine rollout.     Colombo, Aug 18 (EFE/EPA).- The Sri Lankan government has imposed an island-wide midnight quarantine curfew from 10 pm to 4 am until further notice in order to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. According to health authorities in Sri Lanka, 171 Covid-19 deaths were reported in Sri Lanka on August 17, the highest number recorded in a day.
