France is reporting 278 new deaths from coronavirus, but also announced a steep fall in the number of hospital patients, as the country prepares to gradually ease its lockdown. France recorded 330 new coronavirus deaths over the last 24 hours, a rise in the daily toll as the country prepares to begin easing lockdown measures in less than a week.
