The governor of the US state of Maine confirms that the alleged gunman who killed 18 people in a bloody rampage earlier in the week has been found dead. SOUNDBITE
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says that ten people have been killed in a shooting in a predominantly Asian city in southern California, and "at least ten additional victims that were transported to numerous local hospitals". The gunman opened fire at a dance venue in Monterey Park, as the local community were celebrating Lunar New Year, and remains at large hours later according to the police. SOUNDBITE
