Malian special forces stormed a luxury hotel in Bamako on Friday after Islamist gunmen took 170 people including many foreigners hostage in the capital of the former French colony, which has been battling rebels allied to al Qaeda for several years. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
At least 170 people have been taken hostages Friday morning at the Radisson Blue hotel in the Mali capital, Bamako. Several gunmen are keeping the hostages in a hotel mainly used by foreign visitors.
At least 27 people were killed when the gunmen stormed the Radisson Blu hotel in the Malian Capital Bamako on Friday.
Radisson Blue hotel siege has been brought to an end by the U.S, French and Mali special forces. According to reports dozens of bodies have been recovered.
Security forces have surrounded a luxury hotel in Mali's capital Bamako, after Islamist gunmen took 170 people hostage inside. Nathan Frandino reports.
