Malian commandos have killed several Islamic militants who seized a hotel and murdered as many as 27 people in Bamako, the nation’s capitol.
One week after the Paris terror attacks, gunmen have taken more than 170 people hostage at the Radisson Blu hotel in Bamako, the capital of Mali, Reuters reported.
At least 27 people were reported dead on Friday after Malian commandos stormed a luxury hotel in the capital Bamako with at least 170 people inside, many of them foreigners, that had been seized by Islamist gunmen. Deborah Lutterbeck reports.
At least 170 people have been taken hostages Friday morning at the Radisson Blue hotel in the Mali capital, Bamako. Several gunmen are keeping the hostages in a hotel mainly used by foreign visitors.
At least 27 people, including foreign tourists, were killed when at least one gunman opened fire at a Tunisian beachside resort hotel on Friday. It was the country's second mass-shooting incident this year. Sean Carberry reports.
