US President Joe Biden's national security advisor Jake Sullivan will travel to Saudi Arabia and Israel at the weekend for talks with leaders over the conflict in Gaza, the White House says. Sullivan will meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Saturday and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby tells reporters. The White House applauds the adoption of the foreign aid legislation and urges the US lower House to approve the long-delayed funding for Ukraine's war efforts against Russia. "The president urges the House to send this legislation to his desk immediately so that he can sign it into law," White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tells reporters. SOUNDBITE

US Deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications, Ben Rhodes, warned Turkey against engaging with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), during the daily press briefing in Washington D.C. on Monday. Rhodes said that although the US support the Turkish effort to rid Jarablus of so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) fighters, they do not however "support and we would oppose efforts to move south and engage in activities against" the SDF.
