The White House says it had "warned" Iran after President Joe Biden said Tehran was threatening a significant attack on Israel over a strike that destroyed an Iranian consulate building in Damascus. SOUNDBITE
White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan briefs the press following a phone call between Joe Biden and Benjamin Netanyahu during which the US president told his Israeli counterpart that he is "deeply concerned" about Israel potentially conducting military operations in Rafah, adding, "Israel has not presented us or the world with a plan for how or where they would safely move those civilians." The White House says US President Joe Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a call that he still backs future statehood for the Palestinians, amid tensions between the two leaders over the issue. "The president still believes in the promise and the possibility of a two-state solution.
