Milwaukee gun store to pay $5M after being found liable in police shooting

Description

A West Milwaukee gun store was found negligent after selling a firearm to a ‘straw buyer’ who later used it to shoot two police officers. Fox6 reports that in May 2009, Jacob Collins, 21, helped 18-year-old Julius Burton buy a Taurus semi-automatic pistol from Badger Guns. Burton gave Collins $40 to help him buy the gun. One month later, Burton used the gun to shoot two officers, Graham Kunisch and Bryan Norberg in the face after they stopped him for riding his bike on the sidewalk.
