The war in Gaza looms over the Eurovision Song Contest, with demonstrators again taking to the streets of the host city, Malmo, in Sweden, to protest against Israel's participation in today's event. Israel ranks with Croatia and Switzerland as one of the bookmakers' favourites to succeed Sweden and take home the colourful and kitschy competition watched by more than a hundred million people.
