EU lawmakers overwhelmingly vote to give conservative Maltese politician Roberta Metsola another term as speaker of the European Parliament. Metsola wins a massive majority with 562 votes as the 720-seat parliament met for its first session in Strasbourg, France, with new MEPs. More than 400 million European voters will choose a new five-year EU parliament between June 6 and 9 next year, announces the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. "Every person, in every member state, will go to vote" she says, "your vote matters".
