Former BBC news anchor Huw Edwards, one of the most recognisable faces on UK television, arrives at court charged with three counts of making indecent images of children. Edwards resigned from the BBC in April on "medical advice", six months after he was initially arrested, and was charged on June 26. The offences, which are alleged to have taken place between December 2020 and April 2022, relate to images shared on a WhatsApp chat, police said in a statement. IMAGES
Caster Semenya appears before the highest chamber of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) for a hearing into whether the double Olympic champion can be required to lower her testosterone levels to compete. Darya Trepova, a 26-year-old accused of killing a military blogger and supporter of Moscow's Ukraine offensive, appears in court for her case's first hearing. Russian investigators say Ukraine orchestrated the attack on Vladlen Tatarsky, which took place at a cafe in Saint Petersburg in April. Trepova is alleged to have gifted Tatarsky a statuette, which exploded minutes later, killing the blogger and wounding more than 30 others. Ukraine has denied involvement and blamed domestic infighting for the killing. IMAGES
