Residents move by boat in Bolivian flooded town after river overflows

Description

Residents move in boats through the flooded streets of a town in northern Bolivia after heavy rains caused the Acre River to overflow. The city of Cobija on the border with Brazil is suffering unprecedented flooding, with water levels reaching 17 meters (55.7 ft). The rainy season in Bolivia, which began in December and will last until March, has so far left 40 people dead and nearly 10,000 families affected, according to the government. IMAGES
