First voters cast ballots as Greek polling stations open for EU elections

Description

The first Greek voters arrive at a polling station in Athens as the last and biggest day of the European Parliament elections gets underway, with voting in 21 member countries. EU voters go to the polls with the bloc facing a number of challenges, including the ongoing war in Ukraine, global trade and industrial tensions, a climate emergency and a West that, within months, may have to adapt to a new Donald Trump presidency.
