    On the eve of the 2018 Mondial de l’Auto Paris, Mercedes-Benz showcased the latest member of its premium SUV family, the new GLE. More than 400 invited guests witnessed the world premiere of the SUV trendsetter at the brand’s “Meet Mercedes” event. As in previous years, the Hotel Molitor, with its Art Deco design and street-art elements, provided the perfect setting for the popular event format. Besides a best-in-class cd figure of 0.29, the GLE also offers a compelling new operating concept, innovative driver assistance systems, a new engine line-up and considerably more space. The new Mercedes-Benz GLE is packed with innovations. One world first is the 48-volt E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL active suspension, while the driver assistance systems go one step further with Active Tailback Assist. The interior is even bigger and more comfortable, with an optional third row of seats. The infotainment system comes with bigger screens, a full-colour head-up display with a resolution of 720 x 240 pixels and MBUX interior assist, which can recognise hand and arm movements for convenient operation. The exterior design exudes not only presence and strength but also sets a new aerodynamics best-in-class in the SUV segment.

    At the 88th Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz is presenting a slew of world premieres in a clear demonstration that the brand with the three-pointed star offers vehicles to suit all needs. First to be unveiled was the all-new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé (fuel consumption combined: 11.2-9.1 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 256-209 g/km[1]), which augments the successful AMG GT family with another member. Also celebrating its world premiere was the new Mercedes-AMG G 63 (fuel consumption combined: 13.1 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 299 g/km), the new generation of the off-road legend by Mercedes-AMG. Further highlights in Geneva include the extensively redesigned C-Class. The bestseller with the three-pointed star appears with new, even more efficient engines. Also on show for the first time is a pre-production version of the first plug-in diesel hybrid, which is set to feature in both the C-Class and the E-Class. The new Mercedes-AMG C 43 (fuel consumption combined: 9.4-9.1 l/100 km; CO2emissions combined: 214-209 g/km1) guarantees compelling performance. Plus, the presentation of smart EQ fortwo (combined power consumption: 13.0-12,9 kWh/100 km; combined CO2emissions: 0 g/km) and the smart EQ forfour (combined power consumption: 13.2-13.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km) sees the inventor of the automobile take the next step towards the electrification of its entire model line-up by 2022.

    A swift alternative programme for the Geneva Motor Show: Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG presented the highlights of their product premieres live on the media portal Mercedes me media. The digital press conference, which is available as an on-demand video, focuses on the world premiere of the comprehensively updated E-Class with numerous model variants – including the plug-in hybrid versions of the Sedan and Estate as well as the Mercedes-AMG E 53 4MATIC+ (combined fuel consumption 9.0–8.8 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions 207–200 g/km)1[i]. With the new plug-in hybrid models in the compact car segment, Mercedes-Benz is pushing ahead with its electrification offensive. The CLA 250 e as Coupé and Shooting Brake (combined fuel consumption 1.6-1.5 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions 37-35 g/km, combined electrical consumption 15.5-15.1 kWh/100 km)1, and the GLA 250 e (combined fuel consumption 1.8-1.6 l/100 km, combined CO2 emissions 42-38 g/km, combined electrical consumption 16.1-15.5 kWh/100 km)2 will complement the range. There are also new engine variants with 48-volt technology and integrated starter-generator (ISG) in the E-Class.
