Jennifer Lawrence to Star in Crime Drama Movie 'Burial Rites'

Actress Jennifer Lawrence is set to star in the upcoming crime drama movie 'Burial Rites', from Hannah Kent’s 2013 novel of the same name. 'Call me by Your Name' director Luca Guadagnino will reportedly helm the flick. In 'Burial Rites' Lawrence will play Agnes Magnusdottir, the last woman to be publicly executed in Iceland in 1830 for killing her employer and another man. According to Variety, the film picks up, during a period of time in which Magnusdottir finds herself “reluctantly forging emotional and romantic bonds while reflecting on her supposed crimes.” A planned release date for 'Burial Rites' has not yet been announced.
