U.S. Geological Survey footage shows activity inside Kilauea Volcano on Hawaiian Islands
Footage taken from on board a helicopter over Hawaii's Kilauea shows lava fountaining out from fissures and volcanic gases blowing downwind. Kilauea is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. According to the US Geological Survey, the eruption which began on June 3 has paused but the situation "remains dynamic and could change quickly." IMAGES
Footage released on the 17th of March show flaming lava pouring out of the crater of Indonesia's Mount Merapi, one of the world's most active volcanoes, which erupted late Friday and continues to spew hot ash and other volcanic material. Merapi also erupted last week, sending volcanic material 9,600 feet (3,000 metres) above the summit. IMAGES
