The Lexus RC has arrived to take on the best Germany has to offer in the form of the BMW 4 Series, Mercedes C-Class Coupe and Audi A5. The Mercedes V-Class is based on the Mercedes Vito van and offers generous space for up to eight passengers in a luxurious package. It comes at a price, though, but it occupies a unique place in the market for people looking for a luxurious people carrier with a generous dose of practicality.
The Mercedes S-Class coupe doesn’t sacrifice comfort and luxury for speed and handling – it ticks all those boxes with ease.Viewed in isolation, the Mercedes S-Class coupe seems like an expensive two-door sports car, with a choice of three powerful engines, a luxurious interior and high running costs. However, when you compare it to rivals like the Bentley Continental GT and Aston Martin DB9, the big Merc starts to look like a bit of a bargain.For the performance on offer, the S-Class coupe's running costs aren't actually that bad. Yes, compared to a Ford Focus hatchback, a lowly 30mpg doesn't look great, but when you take into account the powerful engines and sporty handling, it's actually pretty impressive. Besides, if you can afford the car's list price, the high fuel consumption is unlikely to worry you.
