Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump held a rally at the Laconia Middle School Gymnasium, in Laconia, New Hampshire, where he railed against the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), calling it "the worst trade deal ever made."
US President Barack Obama put his support behind Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton during his speech at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Wednesday. During his address, Obama praised Clinton saying "there has never been a man or a woman more qualified than Hillary Clinton to serve as President of the United States of America." Commenting on Donald Trump, Obama assured that the American "greatness" does not depend on the Republican hopeful, while urging voters to vote for Clinton rather than to boo at Trump.
President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris' have chosen a Covid-19 transition advisory board. The newly appointed team is led by established public health officials and staffed by doctors and government officials. The board is co-chaired by former FDA Commissioner Dr. David Kessler, former Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy and Dr. Marcella Nunez-Smith. According to CNN, Dr. Marcells Nunez-Smith is a Yale associate professor of medicine and epidemiology. Also on the advisory board are well-known medical figures, including Dr. Zeke Emanuel, and Dr. Atul Gawand. Rounding out the board's expertise is Rick Bright, who led the government's production and purchase of vaccines.
Warren Buffett has a history of endorsing candidates for President. He's endorsed Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Yet, Business Insider reports that Buffett has not endorsed Joe Biden. The billionaire investor and Berkshire Hathaway CEO has defended his right to take a political stance. He may be worried about angry customers, or disgruntled employees, if he takes a side in this election. "You have to be careful about when you do speak because it's going to be assumed you're speaking on behalf of your company," he said during last year's annual meeting.
Chelsea Clinton has revealed why her once-close friendship with Ivanka Trump came to an end. According to HuffPost, Chelsea spoke to host Andy Cohen on a Thursday appearance on 'Watch What Happens Live” Thursday. Chelsea said she and Ivanka haven’t spoken since their parents, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, battled for the presidency four years ago. She said it was hard to be friends with someone who actively supports President Donald Trump's agenda, and was therefore deeply complicit. She accused the president of trafficking in racism, sexism, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, transphobia, conspiracy theories and lies. I don't want to be friends with someone like that.
