Authorities say more than 4,200 migrants trying to reach Europe have been rescued from boats in the Mediterranean in last 24 hours. Jillian Kitchener reports.
A European Union naval coalition has rescued 4,243 migrants stranded on wooden fishing boats and motorised rubber dinghies in the Mediterranean Sea over the past 24 hours alone, the Italian coastguard said on Saturday.
