Japanese airbag manufacturer Takata Corporation on Tuesday announced that it will recall nearly 34 million vehicles in the United States, the largest vehicle recall in American history.
Carmaker General Motors is recalling over 1.4 million vehicles over a fire risk, including some that had been previously recalled.
Japanese carmakers Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi are recalling more cars to replace airbags made by Takata, which have been linked to eight deaths and more than 100 injuries.
