The prison worker charged with helping the two convicted killers David Sweat and Richard Matt to escape from the New York maximum-security correctional facility allegedly told investigators that the three had planned to kill her husband.
The two New York prison escapees who sparked a massive manhunt this month had planned to go to Mexico after they fled the maximum-security prison on June 6, according to one of the escapees, David Sweat.
As the manhunt for the New York prison escapees enters day nine, Joyce Mitchell, the prison worker who helped them escape, confessed she was supposed to drive them for seven hours at night to a predetermined location, Clinton District Attorney Andrew Wylie was quoted by CNN as saying.
