Explosions ring out and smoke rises in the area of Ocheretyne, a village in Ukraine's eastern Donbas region which, according to observers, is now mostly controlled by Russian forces. In his nightly address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky offers his condolences to the families of victims of Russian shelling in Sloviansk, which Ukrainian authorities say killed five and injured 15. "Rescue operations are underway in Sloviansk. (...). Everything is being done to save the wounded", he adds. SOUNDBITE
Images show the aftermath of a missile that hit near a kindergarten in Kramatorsk, eastern Ukraine. The missile carved a huge crater in front of the kindergarten, which had some 250 pupils and 70 staff before the war broke out. Debris from the strike, which sparked a small fire in the building and smashed windows, was strewn around the playground and lay near colourful murals on a school building. IMAGES
Images show police and soldiers searching through debris following a strike on a residential area of Eastern Ukraine's Kramatorsk on Tuesday. The head of the Donetsk administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, wrote on Telegram that 'enemy fire' had hit the city wounding a young boy. He called on locals to evacuate. IMAGES
