As the murder trial for the death of “American Sniper” Chris Kyle and fellow veteran Chad Littlefield continues this week, more details about the accused killer, ex-Marine Eddie Ray Routh, have been released. The defense team hopes that many of the details regarding Routh’s behavior after the murder will buttress their claims that Routh was temporarily insane at the time of the murders.
Former Marine Eddie Ray Routh, 27, is being tried for the 2013 murder of “American Sniper” Chris Kyle, 38, and the murder of another veteran, Chad Littlefield, 35, at a shooting range in Texas.

Spanning three decades, the murders included a 9 year old girl on her way back from school, a mentally disabled 18 year old and a 20 year olf British woman whose body was found in a river in 1990. Four men accused of murdering 298 people in the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in 2014 went on trial in the Netherlands, with a judge saying it was an "atrocious disaster".
