A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck central Mexico, destroying several buildings in the country's capital of Mexico City and leaving over 240 people dead on Tuesday. Emergency services carried out rescue operations as they searched for survivors trapped in the surrounding buildings. Tuesday's earthquake comes just a matter of weeks after an 8.1 magnitude quake also struck central Mexico and killed nearly 100 people, mainly in the city of Oaxaca.
