A series of strikes hit the northern Gaza Strip as rockets are intercepted above the Israeli border city of Sderot, on the third day after a seven-day truce in the Israel-Hamas war expired. Israel carries out deadly bombardments in Gaza on Sunday as international calls mounted for greater protection of civilians and the renewal of an expired truce with Palestinian militant group Hamas. Four helicopters carrying 22 released hostages - two hostages made their way by land to the Wolfson hospital - fly over the Israeli Air Force Base of Hatzerim on their way to different hospitals in central Israel. IMAGES
Flares light up the sky over Gaza City as many explosions can be seen and heard on the 26th day of the conflict. On October 7, Hamas militants killed 1,400 people and kidnapped more than 230, according to Israeli officials, in the deadliest attack in the country's history. Since then, Israel has relentlessly bombarded the Palestinian territory and sent in ground troops as they seek to destroy Hamas, with the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza saying 8,796 people have been killed, two-thirds of them women and children.
