Santa Cruz de La Palma, Sep 23 (EFE).- The Cumbre Vieja volcano continued Thursday its path of destruction on the Spanish island of La Palma as the lava slowed down the speed at which it advances, according to the latest estimate at about 4 meters per hour. The eruption started on September 19. Experts say it could last up to three months.

Highly liquid lava flows continue to threaten the Spanish island of La Palma, almost two weeks after the first eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano since 1971.
Satellite imagery showed a D-shaped tongue of molten rock building up on the island's western shore measured 338 hectares by the end of Wednesday.
