The funeral for the Burkina Faso military officers killed in an attack on a supply convoy headed for the northern town to Djibo on September 26 is held in the coutnry's capital, Ougadougou. The ambush, claimed by Al-Qaeda, with an official death toll of 37 people, 27 of them soldiers, has become emblematic of the state's inability to secure remote countryside areas and protect local people, 10 years into a bloody jihadist insurgency in the Sahel region.
