Madrid, Oct 12 (EFE).- 160 Afghan refugees from 28 famillies arrived Tuesday at Spain's Torrejón de Ardoz air base as part of the Spanish Government's operation to evacuate people who collaborated with the Spanish authorities in Afghanistan.The group of Afghans boarding the AirEuropa plane were received by the Spanish Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, and the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias. Madrid, Oct 11 (EFE).- Around 85 Afghan refugees landed Monday at Spain's Torrejón de Ardoz air base on a plane from Islamabad, as part of the Spanish Government's operation to evacuate people who collaborated with the Spanish authorities in Afghanistan as well as their families.The group of Afghans, including several minors and women, was received by the Spanish Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, and the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá. Every day in the central Tehran coffee shop where he works and also sleeps, he checks his phone for possible news from his girlfriend and still hopes to hear from her every day. According to the latest figures from the Iranian government for October 2020, some 780,000 Afghans live in Iran as refugees.
