Parisians enjoy a last evening at restaurants and bars before curfew kicks in, in a bid to stop the further spread of Covid-19. Paris, its surrounding region and eight other metropolises will be subject to curfews from Friday midnight. In the last 24 hours a record 30,000 cases of Covid are registered in France. IMAGES
With luxury boutiques and hotels closed, Rue de Rivoli in Paris is deserted as the French nation enters day 50 of lockdown to combat the spread of COVID-19. Only a few vehicles are still passing on the street, which the City Hall plans close to private cars on 11 May. IMAGES
Several thousand demonstrators, including railway workers, teachers and lawyers, took to the streets of Paris to march against pension reform.
