Influenced by a standard of engineering that pushes established boundaries, challenges design norms and sets new benchmarks, the development of the W16 Mistral opens a new chapter in the brand’s unmatched roadster legacy.The W16 Mistral is the first Bugatti roadster since the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse which premiered in 2012.The W16 Mistral is the last road-going Bugatti model that will be powered by the brand’s legendary W16 engine.Crafted around the definitive 1,600 PS incarnation of Bugatti’s W16 engine, the W16 Mistral offers exquisite craftsmanship and luxury that is unlike any other open top car.Intricate woven leather is used on newly designed door panels, which has been meticulously tested and produced to Bugatti’s highest quality standards.The doors of the W16 Mistral are designed to absorb an exceptional amount of energy in the event of a side impact, thus keeping driver and passenger safe and secure.Each component is designed not just to set new standards for beauty, but to also play a role in achieving completely new levels of performance for a roadster.The soundscape inside the W16 Mistral is not limited to the visceral signature presence of the W16 engine; it is accompanied by a high-end sound system specially developed for the roadster.Staying true to its roadster roots, the W16 Mistral is a perfect matrix of flawless engineering attributes fusing performance, comfort, safety, dynamics, handling and drivability.
Helm is proud to announce the second in our series of Jaguar E-type Series 1 launches: the Roadster. Working closely with Bill Amberg to produce sumptuous bespoke leather interiors, our aim is to preserve the art of the E-type for the next generation, while elevating the driving experience and build to the pinnacle of contemporary luxury.Despite the beauty of its lines, the original E-type was beset with unreliable electronics, a troublesome carburetor and a less than luxurious black plastic interior: now, in introducing our first Roadster, we have reimagined a classic, fit for today’s standards. Helm is the culmination of a lifetime’s work for renowned restoration specialist Chedeen Battick, who boasts over a decade’s worth of experience restoring E-types. ‘I wanted to create the ultimate E-type: remaining sensitive to its history, but ensuring the drive, build and performance is as good as it can possibly be, using the finest materials and British craftsmanship combined with the finest standards of modern engineering, instilling a feeling of love, care and attention to detail within each component.’
Exquisite design and superlative engineering underpin everything Bugatti has created in its long, illustrious history. Ever since the Veyron was introduced in 2005, the W16 engine has been the beating heart of every Bugatti. The roadgoing car that brings the W16 era to an end was always destined to be special: exclusive, elegant and powerful. It must be the very best of its kind. This is W16 Mistral: the ultimate roadster.For a car as evocative and important as this, great consideration went into the badge it should wear. Far more than simply a development of the Chiron, the roadster needed a name associated with freedom, elegance and speed. Inspiration came from the mistral, a powerful wind that blows from the Rhône River valley, through the chic towns of the Côte d’Azur in southern France and into the Mediterranean. And with the engine so central to this roadster’s character, it stands side-by-side with this mighty wind: W16 Mistral.
The first production car to explore a new dimension of straight-line performance was Bugatti’s record-breaking sensation; the Chiron Super Sport 300+. Having now completed its extensive two-year testing and development program, the first eight of just 30 highly exclusive vehicles are now ready for delivery.When the Chiron Super Sport 300+ first made headlines back in 2019, Bugatti established an entirely new standard of performance by blasting through the seemingly unbreakable 300 mph barrier. Surpassing the threshold at a speed of 304.773 mph (490.484 km/h), setting a new world record. Shortly after, to mark the 110th anniversary of the French luxury marque, it was announced that 30 units of the Chiron Super Sport 300+ would be built at Bugatti’s Atelier in Molsheim.
