Dozens of anti-coup protesters march briefly at San Pya Market, in Yangon's Thingangyun township, holding banners and flashing three fingers salute in another show of defiance after months of brutal crackdown by security forces. Myanmar has been in uproar since the military ousted civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi in a February 1 coup, triggering a massive uprising which authorities have sought to quell with lethal force.
Hundreds of anti-coup protesters marched in Myanmar's Dawei region on Sunday. The country is in its fourth month under a military regime.
Anti-coup protesters on Thursday took to the streets of Myanmar for a sixth consecutive day, after US President Joe Biden announced sanctions against the Southeast Asian nation's generals and demanded they relinquish power.
Protesters returned to the streets of Myanmar on Wednesday despite the shooting of a young woman the previous day, with some deploying humour to emphasise their peaceful opposition to this month's military takeover.
