US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin says he told Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu that the United States will continue flying its aircraft in international airspace, after a Russian jet was accused of downing a US drone. Speaking just following the two defense chiefs' call, Austin says his message was: "The United States will continue to fly and to operate wherever international law allows." SOUNDBITE
Tehran, Sep 25 (EFE/EPA).- Iran's army and paramilitary Revolutionary Guard put defense equipment on street display Saturday as they celebrated the 'Defense Week' marking the 41th anniversary of the start of 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war.Iran and the US are reportedly trying to reestablish the Iran nuclear deal, also known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which the US withdrew from in 2018.Iran recently reiterated its commitment to negotiate the reinstatement of the 2015 nuclear deal, which limits its atomic program, and thereby lift the US sanctions that damage its economy, although it did not give details on when it could return to talks.
