Chile moves one step closer to decriminalization of abortion

Santiago, Sep 28 (EFE).- Thousands of Chilean women celebrated with green handkerchiefs on Tuesday the approval in the Chamber of Deputies of a bill that seeks to decriminalize abortion up to 14 weeks of pregnancy.The largest gathering took place in Plaza Italia, a popular roundabout in central Santiago that was the epicentre of the massive protests of 2019, the most serious since the end of the military dictatorship.
