UN agency warns of 'deliberate attempt' to 'paralyse' its Gaza operations

Description

The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) warns of "deliberate attempt" to "paralyse" its Gaza operations, saying it is running out of fuel. "UNRWA is now running out of fuel. We will not be able to uphold our commitment to provide for the Palestinian people any longer. I do believe there is a deliberate attempt to strangle our operation and paralyse the UNRWA operation," Philippe Lazzarini tells a press conference in Geneva. Israel has vowed to eradicate Hamas in retaliation for the attacks of October 7, which killed 1,200 people, most of them civilians, and saw about 240 people hostage, according to Israeli officials.
