The Var fire brigade has released images of a violent blaze that broke out in the Var region in southern France. Hundreds of firefighters have been battling the flames in the hinterland of Saint-Tropez since Monday, where thousands of people, including tourists, have been evacuated. IMAGES
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmygal describes the start of Ukraine's EU accession talks as "a historic day", speaking as membership negotiations are launched. "The European Union signifies more than a physical space" Shmygal says, "it represents value and hope".
