Spain's parliament votes through a law legalising euthanasia becoming one of the few nations to allow terminally-ill or gravely-injured patients to end their own suffering. The vote, which passed by 202 in favour and 141 against and two abstentions in the 350-seat chamber, makes Spain the fourth European nation to decriminalise assisted suicide, alongside the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. TRANSLATION: We have been witnessing violence against women and we have been witnessing abortion that has been provided by law since 1996, already 24 years ago, and this repercussion occurs when it is out of the ordinary, when there are forces that want to obstruct the rights of the girl, of the woman, a human right to dignity, a right of all Brazilians. Normally this does not happen, normally the procedure occurs in a stealthy way, and there is no repercussion in the press, so it is out of the ordinary, which is very bad, for the family and very bad for the girl.
