After embracing a historic new era for the Trident in 2023, Maserati MSG Racing is proud to continue its journey in the FIA Formula E World Championship by revealing its Season 10 challenger, the Maserati Tipo Folgore.Unveiled on the eve of pre-season testing at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain, the Maserati Tipo Folgore features the same proven race-winning technology from Season 9, paired with a new aesthetic, representing the Maserati brand’s distinguished heritage in motorsport and its continued innovative electrification journey.Maserati Tipo Folgore – which refers to Maserati’s all-electric range – stands as a perfect bridge between the past and future, with the aim of representing the marque in the new era of motorsport: a choice perfectly in line with Maserati's strategic plans and its predisposition for innovation.The new Maserati Tipo Folgore showcases the Rame Folgore (Copper Glance) colour accents on the rear, evoking the characteristic tone of Maserati’s new generation of electric cars, which will represent the entire product range by 2030.Formula E’s ninth season heralded the Italian marque’s return to World Championship single-seater competition, as the Trident entered to the grid for the first time since last racing in Formula One 66 years earlier.

Inspired by the Trident’s iconic blue hue, the Maserati Tipo Folgore Gen3 is the ultimate in electrifying high performance, efficiency and cutting-edge technology that will ‘Race Beyond’, a platform to transfer innovation from circuit to road.The first racing car to bear the Trident logo was the Tipo 26, which debuted in 1926 at the Targa Florio, finishing first place in its class with Alfieri Maserati at the wheel. Now, 96 years later, the Maserati Tipo Folgore, audaciously portraying the Trident, enters the electrification era, accelerating Maserati’s commitment to Folgore, the brands 100% new electric range.The new livery for the Maserati Tipo Folgore has been created to give a contemporary and pure look. The Maserati Trident is naturally prominent on the nose cone along with the Maserati Corse logo containing the Italian Tricolore sitting either side of the bulkhead.The Gen3 will be the fastest and most efficient Formula E car yet, with front and rear powertrains delivering 600kW of regenerative power and 95% power efficiency allowing for more than 40% of the energy used within a race to come from regenerative braking alone. On Monday 15 April in Rimini, in the heart of the Motor Valley, Maserati brings together the press and industry insiders for the long-awaited Folgore Day. The event is taking place on the 110th anniversary of the Modena-based manufacturer: the Trident’s narrative is rich in commercial and racing successes – these have included the creation of some of the most iconic cars in the history of international motoring and many wins in high-level motorsport. Folgore Day officially marks the brand’s entry into the new electric dimension, where the Folgore range is ready to dominate and represent the Brand’s future around the world.A journey of electrification, innovation, luxury and excellence in the best Italian tradition, on which Maserati has embarked in the last year with the launch of its 100% electric models: GranTurismo Folgore, the Trident’s first all-electric car; Grecale Folgore, the first SUV powered by a full-electric powertrain; and now, GranCabrio Folgore, the elegant and refined open-top version of its award-winning grand tourer sister, to be launched at the event. On top of these, the MC20 Folgore super sports car, set to debut in 2025.By 2028, the entire Trident range will have been fully electrified, as announced by Maserati in early 2024 when it shared its long-term strategic vision, including a growth plan aimed at sustainable profitability further into the future, with the focus on the constant evolution of the brand and its products. In this scenario, the Trident range continues to be entirely designed, developed, and produced in Italy, with Modena and the historic plant on Viale Ciro Menotti remaining the crux of this challenging new era of mobility.
