UN votes in favor of removing Iran from women's rights body

Description

Twenty-nine members of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) vote to expel Iran from the UN Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW) for the remainder of its 2022-2026 term. The move, following a campaign led by the United States, was done over Tehran's brutal crackdown of women-led protests. IMAGES
